“Entrepreneurship Is the Practice of Starting New Businesses In Response to Identified Opportunities.”
The Jefferson Grapevine effort began in 2007 by a consortium of local economic development and small business support organizations and numerous local business leaders. As a primarily volunteer lead effort, the Jefferson Grapevine committee conducts a series of bi-monthly events with the intent of providing:
• Regular and informal networking opportunity for local entrepreneurs, investors, and interested business professionals.
• An opportunity to connect aspiring entrepreneurs seeking expansion funding with local investors interested in investing and building our economy locally.
• Education and resources in the area of entrepreneurship and angel investing.
Small businesses are crucial to the region’s economy as employers with fewer than 20 employees accounted for 5851 jobs or 75% of jobs in the Rogue Valley in 2007. Further, the Southern Oregon region has enjoyed a much higher job growth rate of 10.1% vs. 7.2% statewide from 2001 through 2008. (Source: Oregon Employment Department)
The Jefferson Grapevine has emerged as a successful network to support and encourage entrepreneurial business development for the Southern Oregon. We welcome you to join us for Jefferson Grapevine Events.
